Welcome To The World Of Personalization
Do you feel that every time you go to the gym, you need to be assisted by a personal trainer, do you think that a Diet should be made exclusively for you, do you wish that whenever you are looking forward to being the part of an event, there needs to be someone who can help you in achieving your fitness goals prior to that?
Well, I had always wished for that. It all started when 10 years back I started to work out, in a Gym. Though I was associated with sports during my school and college days and used to be lean and tall, well I am still tall, but then I was approaching towards Post Graduation and to a Corporate life post that. So I thought to have that extra bulk and extra mass on my body to look better.
I was so raw for Gym during those days that it was very difficult for me to understand the nitty-gritty of exercising. But, since I am good at observing and learning, yes I believe so, I was catching up quickly from whatever I could see people doing and whatever the gym owner used to instruct me whenever asked. I worked out for a year and couldn’t able to notice much change in my body structure. Then I decided to consult a trainer, someone who could train me, someone who could prepare an exercise schedule and diet plan as per my needs and keeping in mind all the factors concerned to me. Within 3 months, I could able to achieve what I couldn’t able to in that one year.
WHY do we need a Personal Trainer?
We all are different individuals with different body types, different day schedules, and different lifestyles. There are people who are occupied in office for 10-11 hours, 7-8 hours in the office and rest in traveling, then there are who are self-employed, have the advantage of flexible timings and then, there are students, housewives, athletes, weightlifters, sportspersons, etc. And all these individuals are different in themselves in accordance with their needs and goals of fitness. I was an athlete in my early days so my goal of fitness would be different from the one who wants to compete in bodybuilding and then our goals would again be different from the goal of a cross country runner or a sprinter. So, to reach all these goals, paths have to be different.
If we talk about celebrities, we all know, wherever they travel, they are accompanied by their team. A team of hairstylists, make up man/woman, fashion designer, dietitian, etc. So as they have the utmost need of a Personal Trainer as well. They hire professionals who can be with them, who can understand their needs, who can modify schedules whenever it is required and keep their stars, can be called employers as well, ready for anything any time.
Can we Consult these Specialists?
Of course, we can consult them and in fact, we all should, whosoever want to change their body structure, reduce fat, increase/decrease weight, whatever it can be and if you are damn serious about it. Even though if you just want to be in the shape you are in that moment and believe being fit is one of the main aspects of life.
Please note, I am not advocating you to go to the gym only and then have to have a Personal Trainer. Fitness doesn’t necessarily mean Gym, it can be your Aerobics, Yoga, Pilates, or anything, that solves your purpose to stay fit. Even if you have just woke up to do something about your fitness and want to start it from jogging and running, either in the morning or in the evening, even then it needs to be consulted with Professionals.
You can be a heart patient or a BP patient, or you may have some medical complexities and are on medications, or you might have had some injury in past, or your body doesn’t allow you to perform some activity which others can easily. So in that case, you need to consult these professionals before starting anything.
That Professional can be anyone, your Physiotherapist, Personal Trainer, Cardiologist, Dietitian, etc.. You do an exercise to reach to some objective and that objective varies from individual to individual like discussed earlier in this blog, and to achieve that successfully, you need to have a good lot of advises and suggestions from specialists, who are there to recommend and guide as per YOU and only FOR YOU.
Why have you been repeatedly saying, DIFFERENT INDIVIDUALS? Who are they?
Mr. X and Mr. Y, have the same height (5’10 inches), share the same workload and are in the same office. Join the gym, and without much consultation and looking at what other people of their body types are doing, start to work out and carry out some exercises. The only difference was weight. Mr. X was 78 kg and Mr. Y carries 106 kg of body weight.
After one month, X could able to lose a couple of kilos but Y, though lost a few grams but started having pain in his back and knees. He was running at the same speed, doing the same jumping exercises, and following exactly X. But his excess weight created a problem for his back and Knee. It’s not that he should not run or should not jump, but considering the fact he is too overweight, the workout schedule needs to be different from that of X. The intensity of his running would be lesser in the beginning, instead of Jumps, Steps would be recommended to him, and so many different exercises that would be recommended to him than others. And above all, the Diet.. needs to be designed in such a way that he loses the weight.
To summarize it all, if you are taking your fitness seriously, then consult the specialist before starting it. You may know a lot but not everything, you may be fit, but they can make you fittest. They have spent their youth days in learning something that can help others to stay fit, healthy, and in shape. They are important for all of us and our responsibility is to make them feel so.
